Abstract
An unified study of total warranty expenses generated by sold items of the same kind is developed. It uses a representation of the warranty expenses as a marked point process. Particular results are obtained for non-stationary Poisson purchase process with periodic intensity function. Numerical and graphical examples Illustrate the common behavior of important warranty cost characteristics as functions of the time.
