Abstract

The presidential race placed logical fallacies, causality abuse and fact-deficient allegations on full-frontal exhibit. Less obvious is that science fiction often has more impact on policy development than science. It is important that logic centered professions and their organizing bodies help our government develop policies based on logic, data and critical thinking and that science, not science fiction, be utilized in policy development.
