About

Dr. Ioannatos’ research interests are as follows: Currency unions, economic growth under single currency,
economic and monetary integration, debt sustainability, foreign direct investment, natural (quasi)
experiments, difference-in- differences methodology, panel data analysis, unobserved heterogeneity in
censored regression.

Dr. Ioannatos’ teaching philosophy encourages student engagement in class through dialogue, emphasizes the
practical application of theory, provides discussion of current events and their relevance to course material,
assigns smart homework aiming towards individual enforcement of material, and provides assessment
through examinations based on the intuitive and in depth understanding of the course material.
