About

Dr. Massoud Tavakoli is a professor of Mechanical Engineering at Kettering University, with expertise in the area of product design, safety and failure analysis, with a focused interest in vehicle collision dynamics and accident reconstruction, occupant protection, occupant safety systems, and automotive injury biomechanics. Dr. Tavakoli is a licensed professional engineer and has served as a reviewer for many technical journals and the National Science Foundation (NSF). He has published many technical articles, and has received several teaching and research awards. Dr. Tavakoli is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and a board member of the Michigan Association of Traffic Accident Investigators (MATAI). Currently, as the director of Innovation to Entrepreneurship Across the University (i2e) program, Dr. Tavakoli is leading the initiative to broaden and deepen the role of entrepreneurially minded learning (EML) in the Kettering education.
